Re: G9X Mark II very, very short battery life. Each memory card has power and ground connections, along with the data lines. Normally it will draw about nothing as compared to the rest of the camera. But if there's a failure of just one of the zillion key junctions inside, things can change.
The table above shows the number of shots the Canon 6D Mark II is capable of (on a fully-charged rechargeable battery), based on CIPA battery-life and/or manufacturer standard test conditions.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II vs Canon EOS 6D: battery life There’s been a slight boost to battery performance, with the 6D Mark II having an official rating of 1200, just up from 1090 of the original 6D. In the real-world you may be able to get more shots from it, but it’s likely you’ll need an additional battery if you’re relying on the camera
I don't own a 6D II. I know the original 6D did not have a mode to disable the GPS on poweroff (you had to go into the menu and manually turn off the GPS or it would continue to drain power even after you flip off the power switch). I use a 5D IV and I would suspect the 6D II has the same feature Battery Life: 980 (CIPA) Why I Shoot with the Canon 6D. After my Canon 5D Mark II bit the dust (the mirror fully fell out, and I was too lazy to get it fixed) I upgraded to the Canon 6D to get my Canon full-frame fix at the cheapest possible price. Let me explain why, as a happy Fuji shooter, I felt it necessary.Turn the camera off and on again or re-install the battery. »Set the power switch to and then turn the camera on again. »Remove and install the battery again. »Use a Canon lens. »If the methods above do not return the camera to normal, contact a Canon customer service center to discuss testing/repair of your camera/lens.(CAUTION.1)wrote: I have a battery grip (two batteries) and that is better than one battery. I would urge you to download the article I mentioned by Grant Atkinson. He mentions lots of settings that can be made which will increase battery life. I haven't found such an extensive list of possible changes in I have a 6D and a 5D Mark IV. I haven't used the 5D enough to profile its battery life, but in my experience with the 6D, GPS causes maybe 15% battery drain per day. And with the 5D Mark IV, it should use much less, assuming you take advantage of the new "mode 2" behavior that turns GPS completely off when you switch off the camera. SPAz.
