What Peylix said. As for myself, if you get a DSG, make DAMN SURE there were DSG service intervals every 40k (my regret), or else your wallet and stress will be killing you. I am happy with my FSI engine ('05-'08), just make sure the cam follower was done and it had the timing belt taken care of.
I traded a MK1 TT I had for a MK5 GTI 2.0T DSG this past weekend. Both cars need some work and this is my first mk5, first 2.0T & first DSG. The service interval sheet says "Every 80,000 miles", not "Every 40,000 miles or 2 years, whichever occurs first" (cabin filter), or "Every 2 years regardless of mileage" (brake fluid) for example. I had a question regarding routine oil changes and DSG services for the mk7. How often do you guys do your services? I have a 2019 GTI and I’m currently running a stage 1 tune as well as a DSG tune. My car currently has 25k on the dash and I’ve heard different things lol I’ve read that some do it every 5k miles and some service every 7k. xPtrB4Q.
