I LOVE the overall darker tone of Hunter x Hunter 1999. Not only for the colors but also thanks to the soundtrack and the absence of it sometimes, it's a pretty silent anime compared to others. Imho it did a better job at keeping the eerie essence of the manga.

I really do recommend 2011 or beware of 1999! P.S. Canary looks better in 2011. In fact, everyone does in 2011, 0.
